Ontario
Lottery Terminals to display Amber Alerts
The
Ontario
Association of Broadcasters and OPP initiative has grown
to include Lottery Retailers across Ontario. The province’s
9,000 lottery terminals now broadcast critical information
when a child is abducted - Video
Sample.
The
new lottery terminal/AMBER Alert initiative was announced
at a press conference April 4th at Toronto’s Union Station.
Along with members of the OAB Executive were members of
the government, officials from the Ontario Lottery and
Gaming Corporation (OLGC), members of provincial police
services, and the Ontario Convenience Store Association.
This
new partnership increases an AMBER Alert’s visibility
by displaying potentially life-saving information on lottery
terminal screens in high-traffic locations such as convenience
stores, gas stations, mall kiosks, supermarkets and newsstands.
